José Elías has 3 decades offering business consulting and software development for Global 1000 companies in the United States, Europe, and most Latin American countries.
He is an international speaker on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Biotechnology, Virtual & Augmented Reality, Education, Space Exploration, Market Trends, Future Predictions, and author of the first book ever written in Spanish about the Technological Singularity, published in 2001 as “Máquinas en el Paraíso” (Machines in Paradise). In addition, he is the author since 2005 of eliax.com and all eliax social media channels.
He graduated from Boston University as a Computer Engineer, where he also served as an Assistant Professor in various courses on software engineering, microcontrollers, operating systems, and integrated circuit design, and has collaborated on several international projects with professors from Boston University, Harvard University, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
José Elías was also the first Dominican trained at NASA as an amateur astronaut as part of the AXE Apollo Space Academy program in 2013, and has delivered several talks in astronomical societies and groups on space industry and exploration.
Currently, he is the Director of E-Commerce, Marketing, and Cloud Platforms at P&E Microcomputer Systems, the world’s largest company providing development tools for the microcontroller industry.
He was also the Technology Director of CONAPE in the Dominican Republic, where he led the institution to be recognized by OPTIC as one of the 6 most technologically advanced public institutions in the entire nation.
He is also currently the Technology Director and General Manager of ReINVENTA, a company dedicated to technology and business consulting for Latin America, and is a Technology Consultant for several startups nationally and internationally.
He loves cinema, photography, writing science communication, experimenting with all forms of artistic expression, and above all, he loves the universe and humanity.
