Containers Day Code of Conduct

Overview

Containers Day is an event dedicated to learning and collaboration. We believe that the best ideas emerge in environments where everyone feels safe and valued. This code of conduct sets the standards to ensure that our university and professional community thrives.

Our Commitment

With the goal of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we, as organizers and collaborators, commit to making participation in Containers Day a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, identity, or sexual orientation.

Our Standards

Examples of behavior that contribute to creating a positive environment for our community include:

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language.
  • Respecting different viewpoints and experiences.
  • Accepting constructive criticism.
  • Focusing on what is best for the community.
  • Showing empathy toward other community members.

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • The use of sexual language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention of any kind.
  • Insulting or derogatory comments and personal or political attacks.
  • Public or private harassment.
  • Publishing others’ private information, such as physical or electronic addresses, without explicit permission.
  • Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.

Our Responsibilities

Organizers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable behavior and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any instances of unacceptable behavior.

Organizers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are not aligned with this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or permanently any contributor for other behaviors they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies both within event spaces and in public spaces when an individual represents the project or its community. Examples of representing the project or community include the use of an official project email address, posts via official social media accounts, or acting as a designated representative at an online or offline event.

Application

Instances of abusive, harassing, or unacceptable behavior may be reported by contacting the event team at hola@containers.day . All complaints will be reviewed and investigated and will result in a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate to the circumstances. The event team is obligated to maintain confidentiality regarding the person reporting the incident.

General Rules of Conduct

  • Punctuality: We respect the time of speakers and other attendees by arriving on time for sessions.
  • Space Care: We maintain UAPA facilities clean and take care of the provided equipment.
  • Identification: Always wear your event badge in a visible place.
  • Use of Technology: Out of respect for others, keep your phone on silent during talks.
